While there are caravan parks and other holiday parks along the road there are some other alternatives that require booking through Parks Victoria on offer. The below desinations offer some of the best camping Victoria has to offer.


Johanna Beach

Johanna Beach camping area is tucked away among the picturesque sand dunes that offer some exceptional views. The Johannas beach campsite has a large open grassed camping area directly adjacent to the surf beach. The Johanna beach is a popular destination among tourists, hikers and surfers. When you settle in here for the night you will soon see why it is so popular. A great option when Camping Great Ocean Road.

Parks Victoria Campsite Details:

Access
Access is off Old Coach Road from the Great Ocean Road. Dogs on leads are permitted.

Bookings
Advanced bookings and payment are required year round.

Campsites
There are 25 campsites available accommodating a maximum of 6 people per site. All campsites are unpowered.

Facilities
Non-flush toilets are available. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Campfire
No fireplace is provided and fires are not allowed. Use fuel stoves or your own gas barbeque for cooking.

Water
No drinking water is available – supply your own.

Rubbish
There is no rubbish collection at this campground. Please take all rubbish with you.


Aire River East

Parks Victoria Campsite Details:

Aire River East Campground can be found nestled away on the Aire River and offers some ideal kayaking opportunities. Most of the locals launch their kayaks from the nearby bridge. The campground is a bit smaller in size but offers nice cleared grassy areas to setup your site for the night.

Access
The camping area is located off the Great Ocean Road, across the Aire River from the Aire River West campground.

Bookings
Advanced bookings and payment are required year round.

Campsites
There are 20 grassy flat campsites available with views up the Aire Valley towards the ocean. Each campsite accommodates a maximum of 6 people. All campsites are unpowered. Sites 1-4 are suitable for small tents only; sites 10-20 are suitable for large caravans. All other sites are suitable for tents, camper-trailers or campervans.

Facilities
Non-flush toilets, a picnic shelter, shared picnic tables and a boat landing are available.

Campfire
No fireplace is provided and fires are not allowed. Use fuel stoves or your own gas barbeque for cooking.

Water
Some water is available but is not suitable for drinking – supply your own.

Rubbish
There is no rubbish collection at this campground. Please take all rubbish with you.


Cumberland River Holiday Park

The Cumberland River Holiday Park is home to some immaculately well kept camp grounds within close vicinity to the sea. This holiday park is home to lush grassed camping areas and amazing views unlike any other. The Holiday park has over 80 unpowered sites on offer for visitors and limited power for van sites.

The Holiday Park has heated showers that are coin operated and cost 20cents per 5 minutes of hot water. OR use your own Portable Hot Water System for complete comfort.
